Senior Supply Chain Planner
Sassenheim, The Netherlands, 40 hours per week
A highly visible role with wide ranging responsibilities
This is a position in which you work as either a Senior Material Planner or as a Senior Production Planner, focused on longer-term Integrated Business Planning. The roles are interdependent and both provide wide scope to deploy your understanding of the supply chain process and its evolving systems and tools.
For Production Planning you efficiently manage production costs by developing the plans for paints/coatings production sites. This involves, for example, batch size settings and tactical shift planning as you meet customer demand.
For Material Planning you coordinate a category of Raw Materials requirements/allocation decisions, ensuring that the necessary materials and packaging are available on time. You also develop strong relationships and manage performance with suppliers and procurement.
Both roles give you considerable scope to work autonomously on complex processes while assuming more responsibility across multiple segments, regions or production units. You are in constant and proactive touch with a wide group of stakeholders, including senior managers, at both operational and tactical levels.
Further core responsibilities for both rules include:
- Preparing and facilitating/leading cross-functional meetings;
- Leading and managing the implementation of local Continuous Improvement initiatives;
- Maintaining good working relations with the stakeholders and creating the conditions for collaborative team work;
- Supporting the onboarding, coaching and development of junior planners;
- Act as backup for the Planning Manager during absence.
Contribute to an expert and collaborative team
You will be an influential part of a team of approximately 70 people divided over the regions and different planning areas. The team is largely based at our Above Market Planning hub in Sassenheim and comprises around 25 different nationalities. It’s a truly international working environment in which everyone challenges and encourages each other to reach their full potential so that the team performs at its best.
Do you have what it takes to succeed in this role?
To apply for this position you must be able to demonstrate a real understanding of (planning) processes, the supporting systems and tools and context. You combine a sharp analytical mind with the motivation and character to lead and determine prioritization and the implementation of improvements of processes, systems and tools. This requires the excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to convince others. Other important criteria for the role are:
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Operations, or a Master that is closely related to the supply chain;
- At least 1.5 years of supply chain experience;
- An open-minded and flexible approach necessary to learn and succeed within our dynamic, multicultural environment;
- Ideally you are familiar with ERP systems such as SAP;
- Fluent in written and spoken English, with any other major European languages an advantage.
A role with a great future
AkzoNobel pursues Supply Chain excellence, which means that you will be in a position to both drive and benefit from this focus. AkzoNobel is consistently rated as one of the top employers in the Netherlands and committed to achieving real sustainability. At a personal level you will also benefit from:
- Competitive salary with 46 holidays/leave days:
- Participation in the AkzoNobel pension plan;
- Compensation for travel expenses to and from work;
- Flexibility to work from home 40%, including a budget for office supplies.
It is essential that you have a visa that allows you to work in the Netherlands. If you have any questions, please contact Zuhal Tarakcilar, Talent Acquisition Partner, +31 880 030 731, option 2. Or send an email to TalentResourcing.NL@akzonobel.com.
